What we keep, and what we do not

Privacy

Short version: this site asks you for nothing. There is no form, no account, no cookies and no analytics. Our server keeps a log of what is requested, as every server does. If you buy a guide, the checkout handles that — not us.

What we collect

Nothing that you fill in. There is no sign-up form on this site and no analytics. The free guides are plain files you can download without telling us who you are.

Like any web server, ours writes one line for each request: the IP address it came from, the page or file, the time, the page you came from, and the name of your browser. We use those server logs to keep the site secure, to see which guides are read and how people find them — from Instagram, a search, a link someone sent — and, if you buy a guide, to see how you got to it. We do not build profiles from them, combine them with anything outside this site and its checkout, or share them with anyone.

When you press Get the guide, the page sends one extra request to our own server, so that the click shows up in that same log. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device.

If you buy a guide

The Get the guide button takes you to a checkout hosted by Lemon Squeezy, who sell the guide to you as merchant of record. You give them your email address and your payment details; they charge the VAT, send the invoice, and email you the download link. We see the order and the email address that placed it, so that we can help you if the download fails. We never see your card.

Who else sees it

  • Lemon Squeezy handles the payment and holds the details of the order.
  • TransIP hosts this site and keeps standard server logs.

Nobody else. We do not sell or swap anything, and there are no advertising trackers on this site.

Cookies

This site sets none. There is no analytics script, no pixel, and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

How long we keep it

We keep the record of a purchase as long as the tax rules require, because it is part of our bookkeeping. Server logs are kept for twelve months and then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Write to buyersguide@lastrealengines.com and it is done within a month, usually the same week. If you are unhappy with how we handle it you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
